GrowRaton Drone Location Project Completed

In April, El Raton Media Works completed an eleven-video series for GrowRaton of beautiful and intriguing Colfax County locations to promote to filmmakers and studios.

The videos have been integrated into the Film Locations page on our website. Also, we added an interactive map of those locations alongside the businesses and buildings that have already signed up in our directory to showcase to film producers and location scouts. You can add your location here!

Thank you to our crew for their hard work and the quick turnaround on the project. Craig Anthony Perkins was a Drone Operator, Music Provider, and Editor. William Elder was the Motion Graphics Designer and Editor. Ann Theis was the Executive Producer, Production Manager, and Promo Editor. Elizabeth Holloway was the Content Manager and Promo Editor. Ted Blount was the Drone Operator on the Krusi Video.

Our goal with this project is to give local businesses and residents a platform to highlight the charm of Colfax County and bring economic opportunity in kind. We are working to obtain additional grants to film more locations. If you have a location or business fit for filming or you provide services crews may need, be sure to sign up on our Film Location Directory and/or Business Directory. We will highlight your location or business on our website and an interactive map.

Local Highlights of the Month - June 2023

William Elder has a BFA in Film from the University of Colorado, Boulder and relocated to Raton to develop his career in New Mexico in 2021.

He's been an outstanding volunteer for ERMW for over a year, helping us move equipment, attend events, and recently worked as an editor and motion graphics animator on our location drone video project for GrowRaton. Click to see his crew page on our website.

Historic Downtown Raton is a versatile filming location, fitting the needs of many various sets due to having both western and modern suburban architecture. Mountain views make unique and unforgetable backgrounds.

We may be a little biased, but we think this is the perfect location for almost any film project! Watch a highlight video here.

Solano's Western Wear is not only the perfect place to pick up authentic western wardrobes, but also a beautiful shop that has been a film set for commercials and more. A Raton staple, Solano's Western Wear is an absolute must stop destination. Visit their website here.

The New Mexico Film Foundation is a wonderful resource for New Mexico filmmakers to apply for grants as well as find opportunities for networking events and training programs. Learn more about this fantastic resource by visiting their website here.
