The Creative Industries Division (CID) Coordinator exists to support the implementation of programming, grants, and various initiatives of the division. The coordinator assists the director in supporting the developed strategy through data collection and management to demonstrate the impact and fulfill the mandates of the division.
Key responsibilities:
Physically travel and connect with communities in all 6 EDD regions and all pueblos, nations, and Tribal communities.
Collect, manage, and commission relevant New Mexico creative economy data. Support the growth and maintenance of CID stakeholders and asset map.
Help administer relevant programs, events, and support the selection, compliance, and technical assistance for grant and program recipients.
Engage with working artist collectives, cooperatives, and other unified creative labor initiatives to bring perspective from throughout the state.
Work with local stakeholders to solicit nominations for relevant councils, advisory groups, or similar.
Work with the director to serve as a liaison/partner for EDD/CID with other state agencies that have similar or overlapping missions or services/
Support the divisions mission to act as a clearing house and connect relevant work across agencies.
The Ideal candidate:
Skills in data-driven decision making and collection, community engagement, and creative industries.
Experience in evaluation and making surveys, to track outcomes and impact.
Adept in marketing and social media, administering programs, constituent management, business support, listening, effectively, intentional communication, and problem solving.
Skills and experience in working with capital and funding programs, grant writing, business support offices, and the lived experience of artists and creatives.
An understanding of the various identities and cultures within the state, including cultural sensitivity, and understanding of the applicability of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as it related to Creative industries and economic development.
Economic Development Certification (CED), National Development Council (NDC), or Economic Development Institute (EDI) Certification is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Economic Development, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Historic Preservation, Communications/Journalism, Community Development, Urban Design, or Urban and Regional Planning from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in economic or community development programs.
