New Mexico's Creative Industries Division Launches with Statewide Inaugural Event

The New Mexico Creative Industries Division (CID), a state initiative established to bolster the growth and impact of creative sectors across the state, recently launched its inaugural event series. Held from June 3rd to June 9th, this ambitious endeavor unfolded as a dynamic showcase of talent, innovation, and the collaborative spirit that defines New Mexico's creative landscape.
A cornerstone of the week-long celebration was the Pop-Up @ Kearny, hosted in the historic Kearny school building in Raton. Slated for transformation into a cutting-edge XR training studio and media workforce development center, the Pop-Up offered a captivating glimpse into the space's promising future. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, eager to witness the unveiling of this creative hub and participate in a diverse range of activities.
Pop-Up @ Kearny: A Celebration of Creative Expression
The Pop-Up @ Kearny served as a vibrant microcosm of New Mexico's creative ecosystem. Attendees were treated to eighteen interactive demonstrations led by seasoned professionals across various disciplines, including:
Attendees were invited to contribute their ideas for renaming the historic Kearny building, underscoring the community-driven nature of the project. Additionally, participants could explore the demonstrations and enter a raffle for gift cards from local establishments such as Bruno’s Pizza and Wings, 111 Park Street Cafe, Gate City Craft Bar, Colfax Ale Cellar, 111 Park Espresso Bar, Pappas' Sweet Shop Restaurant, and K-Bobs Steakhouse Raton. Catering for the event was provided by 111 Park Espresso Bar & Cafe. AAA Septic Services ensured the availability of facilities, while Chrissy Piancino, Deb Sullivan, and Lisa Bradshaw offered invaluable administrative assistance.
