Great turn out for the 2nd Annual Raton Regional Economic Development Summit!
All good things must come to an end, and it's with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to one of our beloved local hangouts, Gate City Craft Bar.
The September 25th CORE Mixer marked the final night for this cherished community gem. While we're sad to see it go, we're grateful for the memories and camaraderie it fostered over the years.
Fortunately, the Gate City legacy lives on through its sister business, 111 Park Cafe. This fantastic venue offers a similar atmosphere and continues to be a wonderful spot to gather with friends.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the bar so special, and to the CORE Mixer attendees for hosting one last unforgettable event. Pat Howlett of the Trinidad Las Animas Chamber of Commerce and a few of his fellow board members came to discuss their plans to launch a regional business alliance that would include not only Las Animas County, but also Huerfano and Colfax Counties. Stay tuned for details as it unfolds!
We'll miss you, Gate City!
Premiere of the Woods & Student Film Showcase
Premiere of "The Woods" on October 19th at the El Raton Theater was a spectacular evening!
Participants enjoyed popcorn and an array of locally created cinema for the premiere of Jacob Jaramillo's "The Woods," starring local actor, Ramon Dosher. Alongside "The Woods", local student filmmakers showcased their short films.
These films included:
"Suicide Prevention PSA"
"Doubt Defiers"
"A Take on Deception"
"NERVES"
"Silent Courage"
The screening was part of the first ever "Raton Pass Film Fest" which included screenings of Western Favorites such as "The Harder They Fall" and "Rango." Thanks to the El Raton Theater for hosting the event, everyone that came out to attend, and to our gracious volunteers for helping out to make it a special night we won't forget!
