Our first local filmmakers' mixer turned out great! Thanks to all the great crew and talent who joined us and the Colfax Ale Cellar for having us.

Invitation to a Free Brainstorm Virtual 3D Studio Demo on January 10th

Join us for a demonstration of a cutting-edge virtual studio system called BrainStorm 3D, and learn more about the technology and operation of XR studios. The free demonstrations of the BrainStorm 3D software will be held at the Raton Convention Center on January 10th from 10am to 2pm. Please email ann@elratonmediaworks.org to RSVP.


Digital Video Production Class for Raton High School Students

Starting January 8th, El Raton Media Works will begin teaching Santa Fe Community College Dual Credit Film Certificate Courses at Raton High School. In the Digital Video Production classes students learn soft skills of storytelling, pre-production, planning, and project management in addition to the practical skills of camera operation, lights, audio equipment and editing. Hands-on project-based learning is completed in class and on-location.

Local Highlights of the Month - January 2024

Lillian Eva Lieske is reporter for a media outlet and also has experience as a sports broadcaster. She was an uncredited extra (staged near the border) and was told to run to the border for the movie, “The Day After Tomorrow “ starring Jake Gyllenhal and Dennis Quaid, filmed in El Paso, Texas.

Moore Ranch is a privately owned and operated working ranch in Northern New Mexico and is nestled between unique mesas and peaks with over three hundred fifty cattle on a property that spans over twenty-six thousand acres.

The historic Shuler Theater in downtown Raton, New Mexico, is a state landmark and remains the center for performing arts in northeastern New Mexico. The theater is owned and maintained by the City of Raton, New Mexico, and may be reserved for functions or performances.

The Arthur Johnson Memorial Library is located in Raton and is a great resource for writers, artists, and aspiring filmmakers. They host many workshops and events including movie nights for the community. Follow them to keep up with the latest happenings on their Facebook page.
