karla k. morton, omnium curiositatum explorator, has sixteen poetry collections. A National Heritage Wrangler Award Winner, twice an Indies National Book Award winner, Foreword Book Award winner and E2C Grant recipient, she’s published in journals such as American Life in Poetry, Alaska Quarterly Review, Southword, Atlanta Review, The Southern Review, Boulevard, and New Ohio Review.
Her book, “The National Parks: A Century of Grace” (TCU Press) is the first book of poetry written in-situ from all 62 National Parks. Morton and co-author and fellow Texas Poet Laureate Alan Birkelbach give a percentage of royalties from this book back to the National Parks. She was named 2010 Texas Poet Laureate, is a songwriter, a Mother Jones impersonator, and is a nominee for the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame.
